Materials Research Society of India has selected Prof. Rajadurai Chandrasekar, faculty in the School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad (UoH) to receive the “MRSI Medal” for the year 2021. This will be presented to him during the Annual General Meeting of MRSI scheduled to be held online (organized by IIT, Madras) during December 20-23, 2021.
Prof. R. Chandrasekar joined the University of Hyderabad in 2008. He did his Postdoctoral Research at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Ph.D. at Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research. His areas of research include Organic Nanophotonics and 2D/3D Lithography. Recently, he introduced a new research direction namely, Mechanohotonics to construct Organic Photonic Integrated Circuits.
Prof. R. Chandrasekar is the elected Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences (FASc), Bengaluru, Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), and Optical Society of India (FOSI). He was also admitted as a member of the International Editorial Advisory Board of Materials Advances and Journal of Materials Chemistry C, journals published by the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK. He is also serving as an editorial board member of other prestigious international materials science and materials chemistry journals, viz. Small and Advanced Optical Materials published by Wiley-VCH, Germany.
The Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) came into existence in February 1989, MRSI is a founding Adhering Body of the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS) and participates in the international arena of materials research.
