Professor Ramdas Rupavath, Head, Centre for Human Rights and Professor at the Department of Political Science, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad, has been selected for Global Education and Corporate Leadership Award as an Excellent Researcher at the Second International Award Summit by the Life Way Tech India, Rajasthan.
Professor Ramdas Rupavath is a Social Scientist associated with the University of Hyderabad. He was born in a small hamlet of South Indian Telangana State and grew up as part of the first generation born in post-colonial Telangana. Hamlets in India have not changed radically during 73 years of Independence. He did his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His work focuses on the development of the Tribal communities with particular focus on their Social, Economical, Political, Educational and Cultural upliftment. He has discussed and developed field experiments which stand as an essential methodology to explore the relationships between the Tribal and the upper communities with mostly special attention on ‘A Perspectives from Below’. His Perspectives From Below methodology included policy makers in UK and African continent for minority or indigenous communities’ education. For Tribal alienation, education and social movements he was recently honoured with “Ambedkar Media Award 2019” by Sneha TV on account of his academic contribution and role in constructing, redesigning and promoting the ‘Role of Media in Promotion of Bahujan Empowerment’.
He was also honoured globally with Global Best Teacher of the Year 2019 by International School Awards (ISA), Dubai.
Prof. Ramdas Rupavath has published nearly 30 articles in national and international journals, 6 books, guided 6 PhD and 15 MPhil scholars and carries out research in the areas of Indian political process, Tribal development, Education and Politics, Democracy, Comparative study of the Indigenous people in the World.
