The program aspires to converge academia and industry in the larger interest of telecom and IT sectors and is also a sterling example of public-public partnership in wider national interest. While on the one hand the telecom sector is on the path of exponential growth, there is on the other hand an acute shortage of skilled professionals equipped with both managerial acumen and technical know-how. According to analysts, telecom sector in India is poised to generate (direct & indirect) employment opportunities for about 8 to 10 million professionals in the coming years.
The program includes four weeks on campus training which comprises of class room coaching, lab sessions and field visits.
NATFM, an apex level management institute of BSNL will be the nodal interface with University of Hyderabad for co-ordination, delivery and all such related activities.
The PGDTM program offered through distance and virtual mode is unique in three important ways:
(a) It is strong in Industry orientation,
(b) It is an interdisciplinary mix of management and technology
(c) It enables organizations to achieve technical, operational and managerial excellence.
