The School of Life Sciences is one of the most vibrant and largest Schools in the University of Hyderabad (UoH) with a faculty strength of more than 60. It has acquired additional space in the form of as Annex-1 building which was inaugurated by Prof. BJ Rao, the Vice-Chancellor on July 3, 2023.
Prof. N. Siva Kumar, Dean, School of Life Sciences, UoH while speaking on the occasion informed the faculty members that the building has 10 lecture rooms with capacity of 36 members in each room and 6 large rooms. Two rooms have been allocated for the Dry laboratory works for the students. Remaining four large rooms will be equipped with additional benches to have larger classrooms required for the teaching activities of the different departments in the School of Life Sciences. The Annex-1 building will thus be specifically on teaching activity building and the vacant rooms in the main Life Sciences building done to shifting of class rooms will be developed into research laboratories to facilitate Research activities of new faculty to be recruited.
Prof. BJ Rao congratulated the team of Engineers and other workers who worked on the building and expressed happiness on the overall structure of the building and wished the faculty a continued success with their teaching and research activities.
Other officers present during the inauguration include Dr. Devesh Nigam, Registrar, Prof. B. Rajasekhar, Building Committee Chairman, Dr. Irala Lokanandha Reddy, Finance Officer, University Engineers, Lt. Col. C.H. Rao, D V N Raju and CPWD Engineers etc.
