Seema Prasad, a Ph.D. scholar under the supervision of Prof. Ramesh Kumar Mishra at the Center for Neural and Cognitive Sciences, School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad has received a travel grant from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST) to attend the 60th Annual Meeting of the Psychonomic Society in Montreal, Canada from 14th – 17th November, 2019. This grant will cover her full travel expenditure to the conference.

The annual meeting of the Psychonomic Society is one of the oldest and most prestigious conferences in cognitive psychology and allied disciplines. At the conference, Seema will be presenting a poster on “The role of spatial attentional control settings in unconscious cueing of attention”. After the conference, Seema will also undertake a short visit to Prof. Raymond Klein’s lab at Dalhousie University, Halifax. Prof. Klein has recently visited the University of Hyderabad for the GIAN course on “The Science and Significance of Attention”.

In her PhD, Seema is examining whether it is possible to pay attention to objects that we are not consciously aware of andĀ the extent of attentional control onĀ unconscious processes.
