Faculty at School of Economics, University of Hyderabad Professor Alok Kumar Mishra’s book “Smart Cities and the Poor: Towards an Agenda for Inclusive Urbanisation in India was published by Routledge, Taylor & Francis publication in 2024. The book was released at the 56th Annual Conference of the Odisha Economic Association by Dr Pramod Kumar Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and Dr. Jugal Kishore Mohapatra, Former Chief Secretary and President of the Odisha Economic Association, organised by the Department of Economics, Sambalpur University, Odisha.
The book aims at formulating and implementing an agenda for inclusive, equitable, and sustainable urban development in tune with the UN-SDGs, the New Urban Agenda of Habitat III, and India’s new national urban missions.
