Prof. V Venkata Ramana, former Dean and Senior Professor at School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad was invited as an observer by Rashtrapati Bhavan in connection with the launch of pilot for conversion of five selected villages in Haryana into smart model villages. This is being done utilizing the knowledge and expertise gained by Rashtrapati Bhavan in transforming the President’s Estate into a smart model township.
Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the Hon’ble President of India launched the project on July 2, 2016 at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of the Shri Chaudhary Birender Singh, the Hon’ble Union Rural Development Minister and Shri Manohar Lal, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana.
Prior to the launch, a meeting of the officials from Rashtrapati Bhavan, state/ district/ village levels, and governmental and non-governmental organizations (stake-holders) was held to explain the road ahead towards implementation of the project.
Prof. Venkata Ramana holds a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate in Business Management and has over two and half decades of professional experience spanning academics, research, industry and business consulting in the areas of General Management, Corporate Strategy, Banking, Infrastructure and Services Sector Management. He has also been awarded Best Professor in Marketing Management by CMO Asia in 2012 in Singapore and has recently been appointed as the Member of the First Academic Court of the Central University of Rajasthan by the President of India. Prof. Ramana is also the special invitee of the CII Telangana Council and had the distinction of accompanying the Hon’ble President to Guangzhou during May 24-25 ‘ 2016. He has vast experience as an Academic administrator and has earlier served as Dean for almost seven and half years and also has been recipient of many awards for his contribution to the field of Higher Education in General and Management Education in particular.
