Prof. Usha Raman, Professor of Communication and Devina Sarwatay Senior Research Fellow (UGC-NET) & PhD Student at the Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad presented at the Northeast Media Literacy Conference (NMLC) held on 6th and 7th November, 2020. Prof. Raman and her doctoral student, Ms Sarwatay, presented, ‘Studios, screens, skills, and sensibilities: Teaching and learning media practice in distanced times’ in the Academic Session, ‘The Future of Media Education: Beyond Digital Divide’. The panellists were Dr Natasha Casey, Associate Professor, Blackburn College, USA; Ms Sushmita Pandit, PhD researcher, Jadavpur University, India; and Ms Devina Sarwatay, Senior Research Fellow (UGC-NET) and PhD Student, University of Hyderabad, India; with Prof. Usha Raman as the discussant for the session.
Organised annually in the United States of America for 15 years for educators and others interested in practising and promoting media literacy, this year the NMLC was global and held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
