She has been selected for The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) 2023 conference with a Developing Country Eye Researcher Travel Fellowship (DCERF) scheduled from 23rd to 27th April 2023. This is a prestigious international conference that’s being conducted in Louisiana, United States of America with the world’s renowned scientists and clinicians in the field of ophthalmology, optometry and basic sciences. ARVO is the largest community of eye and vision researchers in the world, with more than 10,000 members from more than 75 countries.
The association advances research worldwide into understanding the visual system and preventing, treating and curing its disorders. The goal of the DCERF program is to provide young researchers with access to the latest in ophthalmology and vision science while offering the opportunity to network with colleagues, mentors and thought leaders to develop an effective research program in their home countries.
Every year, ARVO selects and encourages 12 people from various developing countries to present their research work. This year Ms. Sushma is one of the three Indians who got into this program. She will be presenting her research work on “Development and standardisation of UV corneal cross-linking device for the management of infectious keratitis” in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to this, she has published 11 research articles in national and international journals and presented her work at various conferences. She thanks the University of Hyderabad faculty for nurturing her interest in the research. She thanks her family and PhD guide Prof Namrata Sharma for their constant support and encouragement.
