Sushmita Pareek, research scholar from Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies (CALTS), School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad (UoH) was invited to speak at ‘2023 International Conference on Bilingual Education: Course Design and Teaching Practices’ held at Asia University, Taiwan on 9th June 2023. She presented paper titled; ‘Folktales as a Tool in English Language Teaching in Bilingual and Multilingual Cultural Settings’. Her visit to Taiwan was financed by IoE grant for international conferences. Her research area is Animal Symbolism and Representation in Translation addressing the multi-lingual, muti-cultural aspects of anthropomorphism. Sushmita Pareek is working under the supervision of Prof. J. Prabhakar Rao.
She also met Yinghuei Chen, Dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences & Dean, International College where they discussed teaching literature using ChatGPT and translation with/without technology.
Sushmita Pareek is also Erasmus+ scholarship holder for year 2022, she attended summer semester at Peter Szondi Insitute for Comparative Literature, Freie University, Berlin, Germany under the guidance of Prof. Michael Gamper.
