Three faculty members of School of Life Sciences at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) have bagged the prestigious Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) awards. The awards that were announced recently are as below:
Dr. Suresh Yenugu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences has won the ICMR Smt. Swaran Kanta Dingley Oration Award – 2011. This is in succession of he receiving the ICMR Tilak Venkoba Rao Award – 2008. He has done his PhD from Osmania University and researches in the area of reproductive endocrinology, with specific emphasis on male reproductive tract immunology and contraception.
Dr. Bramanandam Manavathi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry has won the Novartis Oration Award for Research in the field of Cancer – 2012. He has done his PhD from SK University and researches in the area of Molecular and Cell Biology, Signal transduction and Oncology.
Dr. Gutti Ravi Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry has won the ICMR Tilak Venkoba Rao Award – 2012. He has done his PhD from Indian Agricultural Research Institute and researches in the area of molecular mechanism underlying megakaryocytopoiesis in neonates.
