A team from University of Gottingen, Germany consisting of Dr. Tanja Falkowski, Head of International Relations and Deputy Director, Göttingen International; Mr. Netra Bhandari, Director, Göttingen India Office Göttingen International and accompanied by Dr. Elizabeth Songate, Country Head, Göttingen India Office, New Delhi visited the University of Hyderabad on 18th July 2023.
The delegates met Prof. B J Rao, Vice Chancellor, UoH and held discussions on the existing collaborations and briefed the Deans of the various Schools on the opportunities available for further joint activities. The Deans from the schools of Mathematics & Statistics, Management Studies, Chemistry, Humanities, Life Sciences, Physics gave a briefed about the courses and research activities in their respective schools. Prof. Ghanshyam Krishna, Director, IoE and Prof. Smarat L Sabat, Director, R&D Cell, spoke about the University’s activities and growth in the academic and research areas. Dr. Alok Mishra, Associate Director of OIA and faculty of School of Economics at UoH felt that the existing areas of collaboration and other joint collaborative activities could be extended to all disciplines in UoH. Prof. BJ Rao hoped that the collaboration between both the universities must be expanded in order to benefit the students and faculty.
The University of Göttingen is an internationally renowned research university. Founded in 1737 in the Age of Enlightenment, the University offers a comprehensive range of subjects across 13 faculties: in the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences and medicine. Later the delegation held an Information sharing session on “Study and Research at University of Gottingen” for the students and research scholars of UoH.
The visit of the delegation has been coordinated by the Office for International Affairs (OIA) represented by Dr. Alok Mishra.
