University of Hyderabad represented by Shri. P Sardar Singh, Registrar and The National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), represented by Shri Harjit Singh, Senior Manager exchanged an MoU on 27th February, 2020. This MoU allows sharing the Bio-Safety Level – 3 (BSL-3) facility with NIAB. BSL-3 facility has been established with the funds provided by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India at the UoH campus.
The BSL-3 facility will be used mainly as a shared facility between UoH and NIAB for performing BSL-3 related experiments. The facility will also be available for use for other academic and research and development organizations as a National facility, whose operation and functionality will be monitored and managed by UoH and NIAB jointly.
