Mr. Kumbham Mahesh, scholar at the School of Management Studies and Ms. Menthri Soujanya, scholar at Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies (CALTS), School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad (UoH) received the prestigious State Level NSS Volunteer Award for the year 2016-17 from the Ministry of Higher Education, Govt. of Telangana.
The Government has recognized their services for their contributions to various community activities such as plantation, awareness on environmental protection, anti-corruption, pulse-polio, financial digital literacy campaign, e-governance, water day programme, anti-drug and so on. The State Level NSS Award ceremony was recently held in MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY, Nalgonda. The Chief Guests, Sri. T. Vijay Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Telangana and Prof. Raja Ratnam, Vice-Chancellor of Palamuru University, distributed the awards. The event was organized by the State NSS Officer, Dr. P. Vishnu Dev. The NSS Regional Director and the Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University were also present.
For the last three consecutive years that the University of Hyderabad has been receiving this prestigious State NSS Awards for their extraordinary contribution in outreach activities. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Appa Rao Podile, UoH appreciated the Award winners and their Coordinator, Dr. V. Srinivasa Rao for this achievement and constant success in the outreach programmes.
