The ultimate goal of research is to show a positive sustaining impact on the problems that are identified and unidentified. Visibility is equally important in order to ensure that the solution proposed reaches the target readers.

A researcher might have a decent proposal to make but is not aware of the right medium. A researcher with a right medium might not have a hands-on on the style of publishing it in the right journal.

With the growing need and a close watch on quality papers and researches, Dr. P. Murugan, Assistant Professor, School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad wanted the student community to learn the style of writing papers that is publishable. He invited Prof. Jason D. Shaw to deliver a talk at the School of Management Studies on how to publish in AMJ and other top-tier management journals on 20 September, 2019.

Prof. Jason D. Shaw is the Shaw Foundation Chair in Business in the Nanyang Business School at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He studies employment relationships, financial incentives, employee turnover, and social networks. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Academy of Management Journal, the leading empirical journal in the field of management. Aiming top tier journal is a challenging process for the research scholars and academicians. Publishing in an academic journal is an important component in academic research and managerial practice. In this workshop Prof. Jason, the current editor of Academy of Management Journal (5 Year Impact factor is 11.254) addressed the issues and remedies to overcome the rejection from top tier journal.

The following topics are covered in the workshop:

➢ What are the criteria for publishing articles in AMJ?
