Dr. P Kennedy, Associate Professor, Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad has been awarded the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Professional Excellence Award for Mass Media and Communication 2019 from the University of Swahili Foundation, Panama on 21 June, 2019.
Dr. P. Kennedy has worked for about 20 years in the field of Television, directed several popular series of Educational programmes, Reality shows and Game shows for different Satellite TV channels. Also worked for Eenadu Television as News Producer. Earlier he has worked as producer, Educational Multimedia Research Centre, Osmania University, Hyderabad and produced educational programmes, e-learning programmes for UGC-CEC. These enrichment and Curriculum based programmes are meant for undergraduate students in India and they are telecast on DD-1 (national channel) and 24 hours educational channel (Vyas channel). Majority of the programmes are Research based and cover a variety of subjects. Some of these are “Ladies in Labs”, the focus of the series was on women scientists who made outstanding contributions to scientific research, while working in Premier institutions in the Country.
