Prime Minister’s Research Fellows Mukulika Mandal and Sarada Raghunathan, under the supervision of Prof. J. S. S. Prakash, proudly represented the University of Hyderabad at CYANO2026 – the 10th Early Career Researcher Symposium on Cyanobacteria, held in České Budějovice, Czech Republic, from 6–9 September 2026.
Mukulika Mandal delivered a talk titled “Navigating the RNA landscape: LIGR-Nue reveals the global RNA-RNA interactome of Synechocystis”, unveiling new insights into RNA–RNA interactions and their potential role in cyanobacterial stress adaptation. Sarada Raghunathan delivered a talk titled “Enhancing hydrocarbon production by engineering Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803”, showcasing innovative approaches towards harnessing the remarkable potential of cyanobacteria for sustainable biotechnology.
Their presentations proudly placed the research of the University of Hyderabad on the international scientific stage, contributing to a vibrant exchange of ideas, discoveries and collaborations within the global cyanobacterial research community.
