The Office for International Affairs (OIA) organized a Welcome Session on 10th October 2025 to formally receive and orient the new cohort of international students for the Academic Year 2025–26. The event was designed to extend a warm welcome and to facilitate the students’ smooth integration into the academic and cultural life of the university.

The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, and the Director and Associate Director of the OIA, Prof. Bramanandam Manavathi and Prof. Arvind Susarla, respectively. This symbolic gesture, held in celebration of Diwali—the festival of lights—marked both the beginning of the session and the spirit of enlightenment and new beginnings that education embodies.

Following the lamp lighting, the Director of the OIA, Prof. Bramanandam Manavathi, formally opened the session with a welcome address. In his remarks, he extended heartfelt greetings to the new international students and highlighted the university’s commitment to supporting their academic and personal growth throughout their time on campus.

As part of the program, the OIA invited several distinguished dignitaries to address the gathering. The event was graced by the presence of our Vice Chancellor, Prof. B. J. Rao; Registrar, Dr. Devesh Nigam; Deans of Schools – Prof. Atul Negi, Prof. Jaiprakash Gautam, Prof Ramesh Kumar Mishra and Prof. Samar Kumar Das; Director, Institution of Eminence (IoE), Prof. Ghanashyam Krishna; Director, Research & Development Cell, Prof. Samrat L. Sabat; Controller of Examinations, Sri Thukaram Porika; Finance Officer, Sri B. Srinivas; University Engineer, Col. C.H. Rao and Psychological Counsellor, Dr. B. Hymavathi, who were among the university officials.

Each speaker delivered inspiring messages and offered valuable guidance to help students adjust to their new academic and cultural environment. Their addresses reflected the university’s unwavering dedication to diversity, inclusivity, and academic excellence. Students were encouraged to embrace new experiences, engage actively with the campus community, and make the most of the opportunities available to them.

Following the formal proceedings, the event transitioned into a cultural celebration featuring performances by current international students. These performances included music, dance, and traditional attire representing various countries, showcasing the rich diversity of the student body. This segment served as a vibrant expression of global unity and intercultural exchange—hallmarks of the university’s ethos.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by our Associate Director of the OIA, Prof. Arvind Susarla, who expressed his appreciation to the dignitaries, performers, organizing team, and attendees for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the event a success.
