Ms. Nidhi Bhutada, research scholar from the Department of Sanskrit Studies, represented University of Hyderabad at the First Annual Academic Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), hosted by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, from July 9–12, 2025.

Out of over 600 research submissions from across the nation, only the top 100 papers were selected for presentation — a testament to the rigorous academic standards of the conference. Ms. Bhutada’s paper was among this distinguished selection.
Her presentation, titled “Application of Ancient Mathematics in Modern School Teaching,” under the thematic track Ancient Mathematics, offered a scholarly exploration of how classical Indian mathematical knowledge can inform and enrich contemporary school education. Her work underscores the enduring relevance of India’s intellectual traditions in modern pedagogical contexts.
