Entrepreneurship has shown great resilience and immensely contributed innovatively even during the Pandemic, when India saw a record number of Unicorns. To create a culture of Entrepreneurship and to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs, ASPIRE – a section-8 company of the University of Hyderabad (ASPIRE-UoH) entered into a new agreement on 21st Feb, 2022 with The Entrepreneur Zone (TEZ)a Startup Accelerator at Hyderabad to jointly offer the Startup Launcher Program (SLP). The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Prof. G.S.Prasad, Director ASPIRE and Dr. Nandita Sethi, TEZ in presence of Prof. P. Reddanna, Dr. Yogeswara Rao, Prof. Lalitha Guruprasad and the CEO’s of TBI and BioNEXT. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad Prof. B.J. Rao lauded the efforts of ASPIRE in creating a vibrant innovation ecosystem in the university campus and for mentoring the emerging entrepreneurs in collaboration with TEZ.

Under this program, ASPIRE-UoH and TEZ will jointly offer a 3-months certificate program in Entrepreneurship. Currently, this program will be run in hybrid mode with Masterclasses and one-on-one mentorship (both online & offline). The program covers – Idea/Market Validation, Customer Discovery, Business Models, MVP, Regulation & Compliances, Go-to-Market Strategy, Finance & Funding, Business Plan & Pitch deck, Communication & Networking. So far under this joint program more than 150+ start-ups were trained. The new batch/cohort under the ASPIRE/TEZ joint banner will begin in June 2022 and selection will be on the basis of the business idea presented or traction achieved. Those interested in taking on entrepreneurship as a career or have research & innovation projects that needs to get commercialized, can apply for this program till 31st March 2022. For UoH students, research scholars the program will be offered at a subsidized fee. The next batch of the program is from June to Aug 2022. ASPIRE (Association for Scientific Pursuits in Innovative Research Enterprises) is a section-8, not-for-profit organization that manages the innovation and entrepreneurial activities at the University of Hyderabad through incubation of startup companies in various disciplines of science and technology. Currently ASPIRE manages Technology Business Incubator (TBI),  Technology incubation and Development of Entrepreneurship (TIDE) and  Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies (BioNEST) which together hold about 50 startups.
