Aysha Thasleema K S, pursuing PhD in Psychology from the Centre for Health Psychology, University of Hyderabad, under the guidance of Dr. Usha Chivukula, presented a paper at the 4th International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Spatial Methods for Urban Sustainability (SMUS), hosted by Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, from July 23rd to August 1st, 2024. The conference was organized by The Global Center of Spatial Methods for Urban Sustainability (GCSMUS) together with the Research Committee on Logic and Methodology in Sociology (RC33) of the International Sociology Association (ISA), the Research Network Quantitative Methods (RN21) of the European Sociology Association (ESA) and funded by DAAD Exceed Programme.

Her paper titled “Health Risk Behaviours Among Indian Adolescents: Challenges and Future Directions” was based on her hands-on experiences during data collection for ongoing doctoral research. The presentation highlighted challenges faced by the researcher during different stages of data collection while conducting quantitative and qualitative research among adolescents on a sensitive topic like health-risk behaviours, followed by recommendations and directions for future research.  The paper was presented in the session titled “In the Field-Experiences in Conducting Research in the Global South.”
