Shri Sreenu Vennela, Alumnus of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and presently working as Tahsildar, Kalidindi in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation as the Best Tahsildar for Public Service.
Sreenu, who is a UGC-NET Lectureship awardee and did his M.Phil., in Telugu (Nori Vaari Kruthulu about HISTORICITY in Literature) under the supervision of Prof. Bethavolu Ramabrahmam from 2005-07, received this award from Shri Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, in the presence of Shri K Ravindra, Hon’ble Minister for Law of Government of Andhra Pradesh, Sri B Lakshmikantham, IAS, Collector of Krishna District and other officials.
Sreenu has been very active in his work – Revenue administration at the mandal level, implementation of the poverty alleviation programmes, Electoral duties and various services in Rural Areas. He feels thrilled to have been able to provide more than 1150 house-sites for the Poor and BPL families in remote villages.
Sreenu was awarded Gold Medal in 1999 for the Best Essay on Vision 2020 by the then Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu and a Gold medal for Red Cross Service by the Hon’ble Governor of AP & TS, Shri ESL Narasimhan. He also received the First Prize in Poetry Writing during the student’s festival Sukoon, 2006 at UoH.
Sreenu Vennela got his selection through the APPSC in direct recruitment and says that the UoH and its environment have a very strong influence on his success. He feels that the Library on the university campus has played a significant role in his clearing the Groups Examination.
