We’re thrilled to announce that Ms. Aiswarya Rajeev, a talented alumna of the University of Hyderabad’s Integrated Chemistry program (2019-2024), has been awarded a prestigious PhD scholarship at Constructor University in Bremen, Germany. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Torsten John, Aiswarya will embark on a three-year doctoral program focusing on Biophysical Chemistry, Biomolecular Self-assembly, and Bionanomaterials.

Ms. Aiswarya Rajeev

Aiswarya’s research explores the self-assembly of fibril-forming peptide sequences, investigating their interactions with membranes and peptide-cell interactions. This work has potential applications in:
– Drug Delivery: Developing innovative methods for targeted drug delivery
– Biosensing: Creating sensitive biosensors for disease detection
– Biomaterials Design: Designing novel biomaterials for various applications

Aiswarya’s academic journey includes:
– Master’s Thesis: “The Effects of Molecular Crowding on the Membranolytic Activity of DSP Proteins” under Prof. M. J. Swamy at UoH
– Summer Research Fellowship: IISER Pune, working on Porphyrin Chemistry under Prof. V. G. Anand

Aiswarya expresses her heartfelt gratitude to Prof. M. J. Swamy: For constant support and guidance; Dr. T. Saravanan and Dr. Jovan Jose: For invaluable recommendations and inputs and the University of Hyderabad: For providing an excellent academic environment and opportunities.

We congratulate Aiswarya on this remarkable achievement and wish her continued success in her future endeavours!
