The Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST), University of Hyderabad, has launched a four-week internship program focused on VLSI Design and Fabrication Technology for B.Tech students. The program commenced on June 16, 2025, and will continue until July 11, 2025.

A total of 43 students from neighboring colleges are participating in the internship, which aims to provide comprehensive training in both digital and analog VLSI design, as well as hands-on exposure to semiconductor fabrication technology, including cleanroom practices.

As a Chip to Startup (C2S) institute, CASEST has been entrusted with the mandate to train approximately 100 students annually in the field of VLSI design. This internship is an integral part of that mission.

The program is being coordinated by Dr. Bhawna Gomber, faculty member at CASEST and co-PI of C2S project. Prof. Samrat Sabat, Head of CASEST, congratulated Dr. Bhawna for organizing this timely and impactful initiative.

During the internship, students will gain practical experience with industry-standard tools such as AMD Vivado, Cadence EDA tools, and fabrication-related laboratory equipment.

CASEST currently offers two M.Tech programs:

  1. Microelectronics and VLSI Design
  2. Integrated Circuits Technology

These programs provide in-depth training in IC design, fabrication, and testing, with each student receiving a semester-long hands-on exposure to cleanroom-based experiments.
