The IGM Library successfully organized an informative and engaging onsite session on Sage Business Case Studies, held on September 2, 2025 at the School of Economics for Faculty, Research Scholars & Students of the Department of Economics & Management studies. The event saw a strong turnout of students, research scholars, and faculty from the Schools of Management and Economics.
The session was inaugurated with a warm welcome by the University Librarian In-Charge, Dr. Sivasankar Prasad, who provided an overview of the IGM Library’s services and facilities and introduced the resource person to the audience. In his address, he explained that business case studies are not just academic exercises, but powerful tools that connect theory with real-world practice. By reading and analyzing them, students gain practical insights into how companies face challenges, make decisions, and implement strategies. This process, he emphasized that it helps in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. He further highlighted that case studies enable learners to understand both successes and failures, thereby preparing them to handle complex situations in their professional lives.
The main presentation was delivered by Mr. Manoj Gupta, who gave an insightful overview of the Sage Business Cases platform. He highlighted how the platform serves as a vital tool for academic research, offering a diverse range of case materials that support users across levels from foundational research methodology to advanced digital and big data analysis. Adding to the practical perspective, Mr. Rohit shared his personal experiences and real-world applications of the platform, further enriching the audience’s understanding. The session was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participation from the attendees, who expressed their appreciation for the versatility and value of the Sage resource.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Jasna, who extended her gratitude to the resource persons, the Dean, School of Economics, the organizing team, and all participants for their contributions in making the event a success.
