The CPCE – SHAPE Health Conference 2024, held at the PolyU Hung Hom Bay campus in Hong Kong, was jointly organized by the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Society for Health Administration Programs in Education (SHAPE). The conference was anchored by the Centre for Aging and Healthcare Management Research (CAHMR) and centered on the theme of “Healthcare System Sustainability: Implications for Healthcare Management, Education, and Research.”

During the conference, four papers are presented in the area of Access to Medicine, Cancer care, Geriatric care. Key solutions discussed included the promotion of preventive healthcare, integration of innovative healthcare technologies, implementation of community health programs, formulation of supportive economic policies, consideration of cultural and social perspectives, and strategies to encourage workforce participation.

Four paper presentations were delivered on 8th and 9th July 2024 and featured contributions from Prof GVRK Acharyulu, Professor, School of Management Studies, Prof. G. Padmaja, Head of the Centre for Psychology, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Dehury, Program Coordinator for MBA (Healthcare & Hospital Management), and Dr. Imteyaz Ahmad, Centre for Psychology. The papers are part of IoE research projects supported by University of Hyderabad.

The event facilitated fruitful interactions among healthcare professionals from both corporate and academic sectors, including representatives from PolyU Hong Kong, James Cook University (Australia and Singapore campus), and the University of Canterbury (New Zealand). PolyU Hong Kong ranked 67th in QS world University ranking recently.

Additionally, gratitude was expressed towards the University of Hyderabad authorities for providing International Conference Travel Grant funding through their Institute of Eminence (IoE), which greatly supported the successful completion of the visit and enabled promising avenues for future research collaborations.
