The valedictory session of Swachhta Pakhwada Programme (September 1 – 15, 2017) was organized by the Dean Students’ Welfare Office on September 15, 2017 at the Sir C V Raman Auditorium, University of Hyderabad (UoH). The program has been initiated under the directive of UGC, MHRD for spreading the message of cleanliness and awareness not only among the students but also in the surrounding areas. A 15-Day schedule involving several programs and activities across the university and outside involving students, faculty, non teaching staff and other University fraternity had been initiated at the University.

Prof. B.P. Sanjay, Pro Vice-Chancellor, UoH was the chief guest, Ms. D. Harichandana, IAS, Zonal Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and alumnus of the then Department of Economics was the Special Guest for the programme.

While lauding the efforts made by the University Ms. Harichandana called upon the students to take up the initiatives in keeping the campus and its surrounding clean and green. She also gave away the Prizes to the winners in the competitions organized as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada. In every Hostel the most clean room maintained by the students was also given prize on this occasion.

Prof. Vasuki Belavadi, Chief Warden was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Debashis Acharya, Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) presided over the programme.

Prof. Darla Venkateswara Rao, Deputy DSW & Chairman, Swachhta Pakhwada Committee presented the report of the 15-day programme while Dr. G. Padmaja, Deputy DSW & Member, Swachhta Pakhwada Committee proposed the Vote of thanks.
