The Center for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST), School of Physics organised a  HSF-India Hackathon from 27th October to 31st October 2025 at the University of Hyderabad .  The workshop was inaugurated by honourable IOE Director Prof. M. Ghanashyam Krishna, Dean School of Physics, Prof. P.K.Suresh, Head CASEST, Prof. Samrat Sabat,  Prof. Peter Elmer Princeton University and Dr. Bhawna Gomber, CASEST. The event was jointly coordinated by Dr. Bhawna Gomber, UOH and Prof. Peter Elmer, Princeton University.

In January 2025, we had a  HSF-India software workshop focused on topical lectures with short interactive exercise sessions. This hackathon event at U.Hyderabad was instead group oriented and focus a much larger fraction of the time on actual coding with the aim of contributing to various open-source projects during the week.  It was a one week program with students expected to work on four different topics, EIX/ePIC simualation, Julia programming and HEP ecosystem, real time machine learning and triggering and Advanced analysis tools. Internationally renowned experts from Princeton University, University of Washington, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of York and Technical University of Munich imparted the training. The workshop was attended by 40 master and Phd students from across the country.  The workshop is a contribution of CASEST towards the skill development and internationalization objectives of the Institution of eminence at the University.
