The IGM Library opened a new facility, named “Access to E-Resources Facilities” with financial assistance of IoE and housing 30 state of the art desktop computers at the library lounge on 17th January, 2024. This marked a milestone for the IGM Library with the inauguration of its E-Resources Centre and 3M Security System by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.J. Rao and Dr. Devesh Nigam, the Registrar.
The programme began with the welcome address by Dr. N. Varatha Rajan, University Librarian. Students, research scholars and library staff were present in the event. The Vice-Chancellor addressed the gathering and mentioned that the digital technology and e-resources play a vital role in fulfilling the current information and research needs of the students and research scholars.
He further emphasized the use of e-resources as a necessary and important change for growth, development and sustainability of academic community. The progress of research largely depends upon the availability and accessibility of online databases and peer reviewed scholarly content.
The event concluded with vote of thanks to the dignitaries and other participants by Dr. O. Sivasankar Prasad, Dy. Librarian.
