A day long poetry festival at Golden Threshold (GT) on 15th December 2013 stands as a memorable event for more than 200 poets from various towns of AP who participated.  The event was organized by Kavisangamam, a Facebook poetry group in association with the Theatre Outreach Unit, Department of Theatre Arts, S N School of Arts & Communication, UoH.

The festival was inaugurated by Prof. Sitanshu Yashashchandra, eminent Guajarati poet and was presided by veteran Telugu poet K. Sivareddy.  Dr. K. Srinivas, Editor of Andhra Jyothi news daily inaugurated the poetry anthology of Kavisangamam.

M.V. Sastry, Editor of Andhra Bhoomi expressed his happiness on such events being organized and hoped more of these kind will continue to be hosted in the city. Arun Sagar, CEO of 10 TV said that he was happy to see and interact with all the stalwarts of Telugu poetry at Golden Threshold. The session after lunch saw a group of 40 poets read their best poems to an esteemed gathering comprising of senior poets, intellectuals and writers.

Later there was a programme, “Meet the Poet” with Prof. Sitanshu, where he answered several questions on contemporary poetry and literature.  Towards the end the open air theatre space at GT welcomed Gorati Venkanna, a lyricist and singer to share his journey of writing and singing.
