UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (formerly known as HRDC) have organized ‘Andhra Pradesh Teacher’s training program on NEP’ from 19th January, 2023 to 31st January 2023, in the University of Hyderabad in collaboration with the School of Life Sciences. This was possible due to the enthusiastic support from Professor B.J Rao, Vice Chancellor of University.

The program was sponsored by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in which about sixty biology teachers have participated. The primary focus was to train the teachers for implementation of NEP based curriculum in the 4 years undergraduate program. About 60 participants from various streams of biology has participated in this program. They were exposed to various thrust areas of biology that are present in their teaching curriculum along with the hands-on training on laboratory experiments. Besides, special talks were arranged on the cutting-edge research, happening on in the modern field of Biology. As the participants were from different streams ranging from Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, special lectures were arranged for each specialised branch of biological sciences.

There were some also some special talks on IPR, Pedagogy, Bioethics and on career counselling by the expert faculty. A special session was dedicated in training the participants on projects grant writing that led to the submission of minor research proposal by each participant. The highlight of the program was each participant was allotted a faculty from the Life sciences as a mentor. All the participants were encouraged to visit them, interact with their lab scholars to understand the ongoing research in their labs and to explore long standing collaboration and guidance. The valedictory function was attended by the Commissioner, A.P Higher education Dr. Pola Bhaskar, Dr. Anil Kumar, OSD. Prof. A.S. Raghavendra, IoE Chair Professor, School of Life Sciences was the chief guest of the function. Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Director, MMTTC (HRDC) graced the occasion.
