Prof. Aloka Parasher Sen, former professor of the Department of History, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has published a book titled “Looking Back through Our Identities – Itihasa Purana” as part of the History for Peace Tract Series by Seagull Books, Kolkata published this book.

This Series is in memory of Kozo Yamamura (1934-2017) and is an attempt to “print thoughts, ideas and concerns of some of South Asia’s most seminal thinkers”.
A brief note on the book:
“Looking Back through Our Identities – Itihasa Purana” by Aloka Parasher Sen significantly addresses an important question in the Humanities and Social Sciences on how ‘myth’ finds its way into the historical record and, by extension, on how cultures perceive their identities based on it.
