The University of Hyderabad, through the School of Physics, was proudly represented by Ph.D. scholar Dilip Kumar at the 16th Asia Pacific Physics Conference (APPC16), held in Haikou, China, from October 19–24, 2025. The conference, organized by the Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies (AAPPS) in collaboration with the Chinese Physical Society (CPS), brought together leading physicists from across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss cutting-edge developments in physics.

At the conference, Dilip Kumar presented a contributed talk in a parallel session titled “Short-GRBs from shock collision driven by magnetic reconnection in cosmic string wakes”. The talk explored how magnetic reconnection in cosmic string wakes can lead to a high-redshift gamma-ray bursts, offering potential observational probes of the early universe. This research reflects the University of Hyderabad’s commitment to advancing knowledge in high-energy astrophysics and cosmology.

Dilip expressed gratitude to Prof. Soma Sanyal, his supervisor, for guidance and mentorship, as well as to the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) for providing travel support under the International Travel Support (ITS) Scheme, which made his participation possible.

Participation in APPC16 allowed for engaging discussions with researchers across the region, fostering new insights, collaborations, and inspiration for future research directions. This representation highlights the University of Hyderabad’s active participation in international scientific discourse and its support for students in presenting their research on global platforms.
