Mr. Nanda Kishore Karnam, PhD student (Materials Engineering) in the School of Engineering Sciences and Technology (SEST), University of Hyderabad (UoH) was awarded the Best Paper Award titled “Novel Ultra-High Hard TiCoCr-Based MPEAs with Exceptional Biocompatibility and Superior Tribological Performance for Biomedical Applications” at the 3rd International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Processing (AdvaMAP 2025) held in Bali, Indonesia from 26-27, July 2025.

Working under the supervision of Prof. Koteswararao V. Rajulapati, Mr. Nanda’s work introduces a novel class of multi-principal element alloys (MPEAs) in the TiCoCr system, demonstrating an excellent combination of ultra-high hardness, wear resistance, and biocompatibility making them highly promising for next-generation biomedical implant applications. His contribution was recognized with the Best Paper Award, highlighting the scientific and technological relevance of his findings.
