The NSS cell, University of Hyderabad organized the National Unity Day today in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium. Prof. B. J. Rao, Vice-chancellor was the Chief Guest. While addressing the gathering, he said that Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the Iron Man of India was instrumental in uniting India after Independence. India has emerged as a modern India due to Sardar Vallbhai Patel’s efforts. It is our responsibility to honour him by celebrating the National Unity Day and commit ourselves to carrying forward the legacy of the National leaders like Sardar Vallabhai Patel and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

The guest of honour Dr. Devesh Nigam, the Registrar of the university said that the purpose of the National Unity Day is to maintain the integrity and unity of the Indian nation and inspire everyone to build a better country.

Dr. B. Krishnaiah, the NSS coordinator said that the NSS ell is celebrating the National Unity Day to mark the grand culmination of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ Campaign of the Government of India.

NSS volunteers Venkatadas, Abhilash, Maneesha, and Shravani also spoke. Prof. B. J Rao administered the Unity Day Pledge on the occasion. Dr. Bhimsingh, Dr. Varalakshmi and Dr. Rani Ratna Prabha, the NSS Programme Officers were present.
