The Internal Complaints Committee of University of Hyderabad organized a talk on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the PoSH Act, 2013, also known as the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, to highlight the importance of this landmark legislation, on 9 December, 2025 at 11.00 am, in the CV Raman Auditorium.

The talk was delivered by Ms. Jyoti Das, Advocate – High Court of Telangana. She was welcomed by the Presiding Officer of the ICC, Prof. J. Anuradha. Ms. Das explained how the PoSH Act came into existence. She said that the landmark law was designed to protect women from workplace sexual harassment and to provide a safe environment, fulfilling the right to gender equality.

Ms. Das also gave many examples and refered to various case studies as well. There was an interactive session. The gathering consisted of a diverse group including faculty members of the SGRCs, newly recruited faculty and staff members, ICC members and other members of the university community. All of them had the opportunity to engage with and learn from the expert perspectives shared during the session by Ms. Jyoti Das.

Prof. J. Anuradha gave the closing comments on the occasion and thanked the speaker, Ms. Das. She also explained the how the PoSh Act works in case of the Higher Education Institutions.
