Honoring a Legacy
The endowment lecture, titled the “Sri Late G. Balaramakrishna Memorial Lecture,” reflects Prof. Raja Sekhar’s deep sense of gratitude and enduring association with his alma mater. The initiative aims to promote academic interaction, scholarly exchange, and intellectual engagement within the School of Mathematics and Statistics while honoring the legacy of Sri Late G. Balaramakrishna.
UoH Endowment Policy in Action
This initiative marks a significant contribution under the framework of the recently established UoH-Endowment Fund. Formalized in August 2025, the Endowment Policy was designed to mobilize contributions from alumni, philanthropists, and the corporate sector to support the university’s academic and infrastructural growth. By instituting this lecture, Prof. Raja Sekhar directly advances the university’s mission of fostering academic excellence through targeted, donor-specific causes.
Under the policy’s governance framework, such contributions are overseen by a Management Board chaired by the Vice-Chancellor. This structured approach, which includes rigorous internal and external audits, ensures that funds are utilized transparently and strictly in accordance with the donor’s intent, allowing the University to effectively sustain high-impact scholarly programs.
During his tenure as Vice Chancellor of Andhra University, Prof. Raja Sekhar has played a significant role in strengthening research and institutional partnerships, including facilitating substantial CSR and R&D collaborations within a short span of time. In a recent interaction with the University’s Alumni Cell, he expressed his keen desire to contribute to the University of Hyderabad’s growth and academic advancement and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting future initiatives of his alma mater.
The Alumni Cell of the University of Hyderabad gratefully acknowledges this generous gesture and appreciates Prof. Raja Sekhar’s continued engagement in fostering academic excellence and strengthening alumni participation in institutional development.
