Prof. M. Jayananda, Head, Centre for Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) is elected as a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI).

Prof. Jayananda has been invited to attend the 87th Annual Session of the NASI and Symposium on “Basic Research – its Role in National Development” to be held during 8-10 December, 2017 at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

He has served as a member in various national (DST, CSIR, UGC) and international (UNESCO-IUGS) science committees. Prof. Jayananda has also served the global scientific community through intellectual leadership by editing journals as Editor-in Chief, Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member of several international and Indian journals. He has participated as a Leader/Co-Leader in global science projects funded by UNESCO-IGCP, JSPS, CNRS and CEFIPRA. He is Council Member for Geological Society of India.
