Nadimpalli Siva Kumar served University of Hyderabad in various capacities for more than 37 years. He recently superannuated as Senior Professor in Biochemistry and Dean School of Life Sciences. He is currently Emeritus Professor in the Biochemistry Department, School of Life Sciences. He also served as Director Office for International Affairs at the UoH. A former DAAD Fellow and DAAD Visiting Professor at the University of Bremen in 2019, he fostered extensive collaborations between UoH and European Universities especially Germany. He also developed together with colleagues at UoH the First International Research Training Group in Molecular and Cellular Glycosciences that was supported by UGC in India and by DFG in Germany. He has earned several teaching and research awards nationally and internationally.

Teaching Life Sciences students, and researching in the core area of Glycobiology he mentored 20 Ph.D’s, several postdocs and was a PI in several National and International projects. His publications are in high impact Journals and published 22 research papers in the last five years. The recent national award includes TRendys in Biochemistry Oration Award, and the international awards are the Fulbright Nehru International Education Administrators Seminar in 2023 and the present prestigious DAAD Visiting Professorship Award. In Bremen he will be involved in teaching to the international students in the Master’s Program of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for two semesters and also researching in the area of Glycobiochemistry and its role in One Health.
