Sabeena Khatoon, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Education & Education Technology at the University of Hyderabad, has been making waves in the academic world with her impressive research contributions and participation in prestigious international conferences. In June 2025, Sabeena presented her research at two distinguished conferences in the United Kingdom. At the University of Sheffield’s Migration Research Network conference, “Reimagining Migration: Decolonization and Identity Across Time and Space,” she presented her paper “Beyond Postcolonialism: A Post-Post-Colonialist Lens to Study Forced Migration and Refugee Issues in South Asia.” This contribution highlighted her expertise in migration studies and her ability to think critically about decolonial approaches. At the University of Bristol’s Inaugural International Child & Family Conference, she presented “The Dual Forces of Stigma and Support: Family Dynamics in the Lives of Disabled Refugees,” showcasing her research on the intersection of disability studies and refugee family experiences.
