The School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad, hosted the vibrant Alumni Meet-2025 on 24th January 2025 at the Zakir Hussain Complex, bringing together over 100 alumni for a memorable day of connection, celebration, and collaboration.
The event began with a warm welcome and inaugural address by Alumni Coordinator, Prof. Mahadev Kalyankar. Prof. Geeta K Vemuganti, Dean School of Medical Sciences highlighted the significance of alumni engagements in building a strong institutional community. Prof. Mahadev Kalyankar reflected on the school’s growth and urged the alumni to actively contribute to its journey of academic and research excellence.
Prof. Amba Kulkarni, Member of the Alumni Cell, and Prof. Ghanashyam Krishna M, Director of the Institution of Eminence (IoE), UoH, shared their experiences, emphasizing the crucial role of alumni in enhancing the institution’s reputation and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. They encouraged the alumni to continue contributing to the academic, research, and developmental endeavours of the university.
In addition, Prof. Padmaja, Head, Centre for Health Psychology (CHSP), and Prof. R.K. Mishra, from the Centre for Neural and Cognitive Sciences (CNCS), spoke about the importance of alumni as ambassadors of the institution and applauded their accomplishments. They urged students to actively engage with the alumni network for guidance, mentorship, and opportunities.
Adding to the day’s highlights, special video messages from overseas alumni were showcased, creating an emotional and inspiring connection with those unable to attend in-person. The heartfelt messages shared success stories, professional insights, and fond memories of their time at UoH, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
The event also featured an engaging “Alumni Trivia Quiz,” which brought a touch of fun and nostalgia. Alumni actively participated, rekindling memories of their university days while competing in a lively and interactive format. The quiz not only entertained but also strengthened the bond between attendees through shared experiences.
A dedicated Networking and Collaboration session was also organized, providing a platform for alumni to interact, share ideas, and explore avenues for collaborative ventures. The session created an enriching environment for professional connections and exchange of innovative ideas.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Shiva Ram Male, Assistant Professor, School of Medical Sciences, who expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers, and alumni for making the event a grand success. He highlighted the importance of sustaining such connections and pledged the institution’s ongoing support to the alumni network.
The Alumni Meet-2025 was a celebration of the shared legacy and achievements of the School of Medical Sciences. It left participants with cherished memories, strengthened bonds, and a renewed sense of commitment to contributing to the growth and success of their alma mater.
