The closing ceremony of the 3-week Student Induction Program (SIP) for the Integrated M.Tech. batch of 2024, comprising of Computer Science and Materials Engineering branches was held in the School of Engineering Sciences and Technology, University of Hyderabad on 23rd August 2024.
Prof. B. J. Rao, Vice chancellor of the University was the chief guest and Prof. B.S. Murty, Director IIT-Hyderabad was the guest of honor. Many university officials including, Registrar, Dean Student Welfare, Control of Examinations and the Deans of School of Computer & Information Sciences and School of Engineering Sciences & Technology attended the event along with faculty and students.
Prof. Murty talked about the importance of multi-disciplinary approach to engineering and computational materials engineering. He stressed on the need for hands-on training and urged the students to passionately pursue their careers. The vice-chancellor, Prof. B.J. Rao, talked about the importance of boosting the manufacturing sector in the country and the critical role the students need to play in nation building and realizing the dreams of Viksit Bharat. He stressed on the need for excellence in every pursuit to rise from the fifth position to the first position in terms of economy in the coming decade. The event also included a cultural segment, wherein the students commendably showcased their talents.
