The Horticulture wing of University of Hyderabad (UoH) ushered in the New Year with a Tree Plantation drive organized under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, an initiative by Government of India on 1st January 2015.
Fruit bearing Guava trees were planted in the Nursery located on the University campus. The University has been religiously organizing the cleanliness drive and Tree Plantation programme in order to promote greenery on the campus.
Prof. E Haribabu, Pro Vice Chancellor of UoH inaugurated the plantation drive. Prof. Y Narasimhulu, Prof. A R Reddy, Prof. B Ramabrahmam, Shri Sai Jawahar – Deputy Registrar and staff of the Horticulture office also planted trees on this occasion.
The University is in the process of nurturing a Fruit bearing tree garden, Medicinal plants garden and is working towards improving the green cover on the campus.
