Mousami Kirtania, a PhD scholar in Public Health at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad, has won the Second-Best Oral Presentation Award at the International Conference on Environment, Nutrition, and Public Health (ICENPH-2025). Her presentation, “Lifestyle Changes, Chronic Diseases, and the Need for Palliative Care Integration in Primary Health Care: An Indian Perspective,” highlighted strategies for developing a home-based palliative care model in Telangana.

Kirtania’s research focuses on integrating palliative care into primary healthcare systems, addressing pressing public health issues. The conference, organized by Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, in collaboration with Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa, and Aieonki Publishco, Hyderabad, on 16–17 September 2025, brought together experts from India and abroad to discuss environmental sciences, nutrition, and public health. Her research work focused on the strategies to develop a new model of home-based palliative care in Telangana, starting from two major districts – Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy.

Kirtania expressed gratitude to her supervisor, Dr. Ajitha Katta for her constant guidance and encouragement.
