Two MTech (Integrated Circuits Technology) students of University of Hyderabad (UoH), Mr. Pankaj Venuturapalli, and Ms. Mounika Akula, from Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST), School of Physics received International Placement offers from Silicon Austria Labs (SAL), Austria at a package of INR. 45 Lakhs/annum. They will work at SAL, Austria on cutting edge radio frequency IC design research related to 5G and Massive-MIMO.
Prof. Appa Rao Podile, Vice-Chancellor while expressing his happiness on this placement said, “It’s wonderful to see our students being placed in SAL, Austria and I congratulate them and their teachers on this achievement, which is first of its kind for CASEST and UoH. I am confident that our students will do well and make a name for themselves and the Institution”.
The Head, CASEST, Prof. Samrat L. Sabat, congratulated the students and said that this is a great achievement for the centre, School of Physics and the University. He said “The centre is growing rapidly with new academic programs, i.e., MTech in Microelectronics & VLSI Design and PhD in Electronics Science & Engineering”. He further stated that, “all CASEST students go through rigorous training in all aspects of Microelectronics and VLSI Design. Our students are also getting placed in reputed semiconductor MNC’s, that include Intel, IBM, AMD, Synopsis, AMS Semiconductors, Math Works, Thinci etc.,. Many of our graduated students proceed on to pursue Ph.D in world class Institutions in India and abroad.
The student’s Research Supervisor and a faculty member at CASEST, Dr. Vijaya Sankara Rao Pasupureddi stated that, “I take this opportunity to congratulate the placed students, Mr. Pankaj Venuturapalli, and Ms. Mounika Akula, who have been working on wireless and wireline communication integrated circuit design at integrated circuits and systems research lab (ICS Research Lab) at CASEST. This training helped them bag this prestigious opportunity.
The Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST) was established in 2014 at School of Physics University of Hyderabad. The Centre offers three academic programmes: Master of Technology in Integrated Circuits Technology [M.Tech. (ICT)], Master of Technology in Microelectronics & VLSI Design [M.Tech. (MVLSI)], and Ph.D. in Electronics Science and Engineering. The faculty of the centre has Research Interests in Design, Simulation, Fabrication and Testing of Digital, Analog, Mixed Signal, RF Integrated Circuits, thin-films, sensors and systems.
