Prof Prakash Babu, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad (UoH) inaugurated the user awareness Programme on use of “Web of Science and Endnote”, organized by the Indira Gandhi Memorial Library (IGML) for the benefit of research students on September 14, 2017 at Sir C V Raman Auditorium.
In his inaugural address, Prof Prakash Babu highlighted the importance of the Web of Science and its citations count and h-index for assessing the value of the research article published in a journal. He recalled the olden days of getting the citations from other universities, after writing to them and use to receive the response in a month or two. He has also advised the research students to make use of the programme and use the service in their research work.
Prof. Prakash Babu appreciated the IGM Library staff for their efforts in conducting this kind of programme periodically for the benefit of research students. About 50 research students from the Science Discipline have attended the user awareness programme.
