Activities organized as part of Viksit Bharat @2047 campaign in the University Campus

Walkathon

The NSS cell participated in the CRY Walkathon on 21-01-2024 at Necklace Road, Hyderabad organized by the Child Rights and You (CRY) during the ‘National Girl Child Week.’ The NSS volunteers joined this event to raise awareness and support for the rights and well-being of the girl child fostering a society where every girl can thrive in its life. This walk was intended to create brighter paths for India’s girls.

 

Thyroid Screening Camp

The NSS and Health centre organised a Thyroid Screening Camp on 19-01-2024 in collaboration with Abbott pharmaceuticals, Hyderabad. This was a camp exclusively for women. 165 people utilised the opportunity.

 

Education and Cultural Exchange

As part of the Viksit Bharat Initiative’s Education and Cultural Exchange Program of the University of Kashmir, a team of 25 students and faculty visited the University of Hyderabad on 18-01-2024. The program unfolded with the screening of the inspiring Viksit Bharat promotional video, setting the stage for a comprehensive presentation by Dr. Devesh Nigam, Registrar of the University of Hyderabad. Dr. Nigam provided valuable insights into the education landscape, showcasing the University’s diverse activities and noteworthy achievements. Prof. Basuthkar Jagadeeshwar Rao, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, emphasized the pivotal role of universities in Jammu and Kashmir in exploring opportunities beyond regional borders. He underscored the broader scope of education, highlighting its cultural exchange facets, the exchange of ideas, and the connective power that contributes to knowledge dissemination.

 

Essay Writing

The Office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare organized an Essay Writing Competition on the topic “Viksit Bharat @2047” for the students on 23-01-2024. A total of 30 students participated in the competition and 10 students were declared winners. The winning essays have been sent to Ministry of Education for information and perusal.

 

Walkathon

The Physical Education & Sports Department organized a Walkathon event of 5 km inside the University campus on 25-01-2024 with participation from students/faculty/staff.

 

Radio Series

Five episodes of the radio series “Viksit Bharat@2047” produced by Bol Hyderabad, Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad is already available on the Soundcloud. The series in Telugu, Hindi and English with students, faculty interactions is being broadcast on Bol Hyderabad radio station.

Talk on Digital Footprints

A talk titled ‘Digital Footprints’ by Prof. Salman Abdul Moiz, faculty in Computer & Information Sciences was organised on 18-01-2024. A digital footprint – sometimes called a digital shadow or an electronic footprint – refers to the trail of data we leave when using the internet. It includes websites we visit, emails we send, and information we submit online. A digital footprint can be used to track a person’s online activities and devices.

 

Talk on Stress Management

Harini Atturu, Consultant, Psychiatry in the CARE Hospitals HITEC City, Hyderabad delivered a talk on “Stress Management” on 02-02-2024. Dr. Harini spoke on the prevalence of anxiety and stress in the society and how it is affecting even children at a tender age. She also shared a few tips with the University faculty and Officials to help them in controlling anxiety and stress.
