The Civil Services Society ‘Nischaya’ at the University of Hyderabad organized a topper’s talk, ‘From UoH to LBSNAA,’ with Neelam Lalitaditya, IAS, on 30th October 2022.


Neelam secured AIR 470 in UPSC CSE 2018 and is an alumnus of the College of Integrated Studies (CIS) and the School of Economics, University of Hyderabad. He is currently posted in Chhatisgarh.

Prof. Salman Abdul Moiz, Associate Director at CIS, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He congratulated the fraternity at UoH on the initiation of Nischaya. He mentioned other initiatives by the university and suggested future collaborations with Nischaya.

‘Nischaya,’ the civil services society at the University of Hyderabad, aims to provide guidance and support to civil service aspirants. They provide daily news updates and conduct seminars, discussions, and sessions with the toppers as a part of society.

Neelam Lalitaditya shared his experiences at the University of Hyderabad and discussed how the knowledge inputs he received at the university are par beyond excellence. His childhood dream of becoming a civil servant couldn’t have been successful without the facilities and guidance at CIS. He still reminiscences on time spent at the CIS library.

“The key strategy is to go through all the topics covered in the syllabus and start reading the basics of all subjects. You need to read newspapers daily, following the coaching resources offered online”, advises Neelam.

He emphasized dedication and determination during the course of the preparation. Discipline and punctuality are the key factors to achieving the goal. He suggested that the students should know what they want in their lives before delving into the preparation.

The seminar ended on a high note with a sense of enthusiasm and energy in the participants.
