Ms. Sabeena Khatoon, Senior Research Fellow, Department of Education & Education Technology (DoEET), School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) participated in the JEMS Writing Workshop on “How Can Education in Muslim Societies Respond to Global Humanitarian Crises?”, jointly organised by the Journal of Education in Muslim Societies (JEMS) and Boğaziçi University, held during December 5-7, 2025 at Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Türkiye.

Sabeena’s paper titled “From Margin to Method: Muslim Women’s Reflexive Praxis in Humanitarian (Refugee) Research” was selected for the workshop. The paper is a critical autoethnographic reflection based on her engagement in humanitarian refugee research.

The workshop provided valuable scholarly engagement through peer feedback, editorial guidance, and collective reflection on methodology, ethics, and academic writing, contributing significantly to the refinement of her manuscript and to her broader research training.

The programme was fully funded by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), and she would like to sincerely acknowledge and thank IIIT for their support. The revised manuscript is expected to be submitted in its final form for review to the Journal of Education in Muslim Societies (JEMS).
