From Binghamton University to Princeton University, Smriti Asha, PhD Scholar at the Centre for English Language Studies (CELS), University of Hyderabad, participated in two international academic engagements in the United States in October 2026.

During her visit to Binghamton University in New York, on 3-4 October, she presented her paper at the 15th International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies (IATIS) Workshop, which brought together scholars, researchers and publishing professionals from eight countries and 10 academic and publishing institutions. The workshop provided an opportunity to engage with conversations around translation and intercultural studies.

She also attended The E Pluribus Unum Pluralistic Education PD Hybrid Conference at Princeton University, New Jersey, on October 8, 2026. Hosted at the Carl A. Fields Center for Equality + Cultural Understanding, the programme featured workshops and discussions on inclusive curriculum development, diverse cultural perspectives, LGBTQIA+ inclusion and constructive dialogue in classrooms. She also received a certificate of completion for the programme.
Under the supervision of
Associate Professor, CELS, Smriti’s participation also highlights the Centre’s engagement with international academic networks.
These international academic engagements reflect the University of Hyderabad’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research, global academic exchange and meaningful conversations across languages, cultures and educational practices.
